Still Under Construction

Why is it that it seems to take forever for road construction to end?  And even after the road looks done, the cones and barrels stay up long enough for everyone to forget what it looked like without them.  At that point, they're not traffic control anymore.  They're decor.  Part of the road's character.  They quietly transition from work zone to permanent, long-term infrastructure.

Five-Year Plan

Seems like we're running short on just about everything these days...and if you can get it, it's taking longer to arrive. I know--there are supply chain issues and labor shortages and high demand and all, but this is starting to get old.  At least there's no shortage of hand sani or toilet paper now, so I guess that's a start.
